The duet of sisters – Milana & Violetta Volskaya – has formed just recently. Before that, the girls performed solo. Violetta sings on stage, performs and participates in singing contests since she was five. Milana used to be a little shy: she studied violin and piano, sang, but did not dare to sing in public. Since the summer of 2012 Milana fell in love with jazz performers such as Ella Fitzgerald and Natalie Cole and began to learn their songs herself. And since the end of 2012, Milana has been actively performing too.

Their first performance as a duo was at the gala concert in St. Petersburg contest “Lucky Star 2012″. Both sisters won high awards, each in her solo category. And the director of the concert – honored artist Mikhail Chernyak – suggested that the girls perform as a duo. In order not to make the concert too long, he united young performers into groups. The song , which was composed and sang by the older sister Violetta, was laid out into two voices and performed first at the concert , and later on TV channel TNT (St. Petersburg) on December 23, 2012 .

The next stage in the formation of the duo is a song that girls composed together during the winter of 2013. It’s about the relationships of the two sisters, the girls sang about themselves! And they decided to try to apply for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with this song. Unfortunately, the song didn’t fit the competition format, it had a chamber sound.

Probably the most crucial step for their duet was a summer trip to Italy in 2013, for which the girls learned the song from the repertoire of the Italian singer Robertino Loretti. “Mamma som tanto felice” was never performed by a duet. The sisters created a two-voice sound, their parents helped them a bit , as they are professional musicians . In Italy, the girls performed this song for a Petersburg family and their Italian guests. The song was dedicated to the mother of two brothers who had a birthday on that day. The boys accompanied them by playing the piano and saxophone.

This song was a “key” to further victories for the girls. Milana and Violetta went to the casting of Russia’s first “Voice-kids” contest in September 2013.

Their a cappella performance of the song was bright, fresh and artistically, and after casting in Ostankino, sister passed on and were admitted to the “blind auditions ” on Channel One TV .

Once in such a serious project, the duo of girls had a lot to do, all the songs that they sang solo before were now immediately put into two voices.
One day, travelling by car for four hours from St. Petersburg to Moscow, the girls rehearsed in duet ten difficult songs. Now all those songs are in their duet repertoire.

Milana and Violetta continue to sing solo, play the piano and take ear training lessons in music school. But the duo – it is now especially important for them. They always loved each other and were ready to stand up “for her sister!”. But now they are even closer, knowing that the two of them – it’s a very strong tandem. And in this duo it is very important that they are sisters, they can understand each other without words.
At home, in a car, in their school, at vocal competitions, everywhere you can hear their two voices. They are always ready to catch up with each other in a song, making it easy “on the fly .”

They make more and more new songs, their repertoire is expanding. And the duo of sisters Wolski will delight audiences time after time and conquer new heights!
